Meet the maker

Yvonne is inspired by the connection between the Fifth Sense olfactory - smell and our emotive memories.

SPÈ candles and home products are artisanally created by Scottish/Canadian Yvonne Duncan-Mandel founded in Speyside, Scotland.

Yvonne's background is fashion design and interior design. Life has taken Yvonne to from Scotland London, Canada, New York, Germany and Russia.

"My childhood memories were formed in the North east of Scotland; summer days exploring rock pools along the beach in Findochty and seal watching at Findhorn. Family trips to the Western Isles and summer camp in Loch Lomond".

Yvonne first taste of actual candle making goes back to those summer camp in Loch Lomond Scotland, where Yvonne was introduced to the artisanal craft of candle dipping by a local instructor.

All these memories contribute to the scent creation and story told in each SPÈ Candle.
